The Interview Tales

As the stress exceeded for tomorrow’s route
The overwhelmed heart turned mute,
Words plunged into a paper white,
Next day’s interview thoughts bloomed at night.

The roads new welcomed with style,
Like a sly inhabitant’s smile,
Lone traveller went on chasing stars,
Via autos, buses and metro chariots.

Delhi was explored like never before,
‘Who are you’ kept knocking at mind’s door,
The questioning new faces of interviewers,
Some were familiar, some like intelligent TV viewers.

Oh that solitude, confinement to a dull room,
Frequent whispers of strangers, excitement, gloom,
Oh that nervousness of selection,
And carefulness for prevention of rejection.

The innocent autowallahs, cyclical running,
And sudden bliss of destination reaching,
The misunderstanding of Costa Coffee,
To Post Office and resultant laughter toffee.

The funny realization of having grown,
No silly pranks, but responsibility to own,
In a series of interviews, the world was seen,
Enriched with experiences, how precious the days have been.
