Pari, a maiden in a white sari,
With a red border, black stars embedded,
Wandering at midnight over solitary roads,
Sedate steps, hastily being tread.
In search of a lost soul of somebody,
Past scars, deep wounds uncured,
External make up of bliss layering true face,
Time wiping sad memories once endured.
Multi-coloured bangles, glittering and clinking,
Fragrance of present like rose scent,
Half-blush of unknown love embraced,
Smile with hopes, to castle of dreams went.
Shadows following her, since the darkest lane crossed,
Fearful growls echoing in hollow space,
Soon the evil gang passed,
Each one, with horrific thoughts to trace.
The cold air brought smell of trouble.
She groped and consumed by every hound,
They left her shattered in bits,
After thousand protests, aching sounds.
Morning arrived, sun shone, yet it was all black,
Hideous spectacle, humanity ashamed,
Some tried to soothe her, but much was lost,
Yet fools wondered who is to be blamed?
Half-dead in grief, scared to live,
Pari, like a yellow leaf, plucked and suffocated,
Finally taken back to life by a prince charming,
Sad tunes fleeted, happiness gradually celebrated.
Her longing for the ‘lost soul’ was met,
Adorned in glass bangles, blue sari, sunflower in her hairs,
She began treading the remnant journey of life,
Hand in hand with her lover, and his cares.
Smile flashing in an attempt to smile,
Pari, moving towards a better present,
With fresh hopes, dreams and a brave heart,
In fleeting time waning sorrows and waxing felicity
pleasant.
