The Art of Waiting

As the time needle
Slipped like sands of time
Changes marked the dates
And evolved varied rhymes
For instance, the art of patience
Was brutally slain
And messages now travel
Like superfast trains

The romance of receiving
The beloved’s letter
After sighs and immense
Feeling of longing
Has been lost
With instant messaging
Too much sharing and belonging

Time’s spent in clicking for hours
The may-be may-not-be true informations
Truth lost
In a breeze of illusions
Light’s thrown
Where the torch is shown
The lost subtle art of waiting
Need the same grandeur past dating

We leaped too fast
From old days
With constant evolution
In our ways
Slow internet connection bites
And traffic jams ignite
Preferred is air flight
Loudness taken over the quiet

Technoholism

This smartness loving era
And gadgets stuffed time
Complexity craving creations
In search of the sublime

Distances erased yet closeness distant
Love confessed each instant
But the roots of words and promises
Is broken, dishevelled with trend

Starvation for outer fairness
May blacken the inner self
A cap on italists hides deception
A silent target on people's perception

True friends replaced by smartphone pals
Long letters replaced by instant messages
As technoholics we float in the boat of desires
And must free ourselves from the watery fires

Why goodness?

Life and death ask not thy permission
Have a glimpse at your mission
How far fetched does it seem
A mere apparition or a dream

Crushed by infinite desires
Brushed by train like trails
Are you sure for tomorrow
And think of eliminating sorrow

Who knows how long is the route
Some care not, some play flute
Goodness is the only satisfactory shore
Where treasures rest the next door

Good intentions bear but fragrant flowers
And good actions add but silent showers
This world prospers by selfless souls
Who move on focused at goals

True is that invisible rose
Whose petals smile for eternity

Heroism

He was a hero
A hero who dreamt
Dreamt about his daughter's future
A future with silvery humility

People said teach her not
Dont teach a girl child
A female child doesn't wholly belong to family
The family is given to her later in life

He pitied the people, gave her wings
Her wings fluttered like peacock's feathers in rain
Rain it was when she learnt
Learnt as her wings grew in time

In time she shone like a pearl
A pearl she was and a girl
A girl who was meant to improve the world
The world scarce in goodness

Goodness multiplied through her actions
Actions bent on doing what's right
Rights are but equal
Equal for all mankind

Kindness was taught by her father
Her heroic father who dreamt
Dreamt about her education
Education that uplifted her

His sweat flowed, darkness disturbed
Disturbing times dissolved at his persistence
Persistent he was to let her succeed
Success craved by a brave father for her

She smiles now in silence, reading a poem in class
A class of her's, a bright young teacher
A teacher who believes in enriching tender minds
Young minds that deserve to dream

An Acid Attack

Her beauty disturbed a sick shadow
That dared to deform a creation
And burn humanity's sacredness
And degrade his own filthy self

The heinous moment melted her
Incessant pain scorched her heart
And she cried 'O Lord'
Amidst her afflictions, faceless

Poor foolish fellow failed
To destroy her vibrant soul
Her dreams were her possessions
Providing true beauty's knowledge

The fight was ferocious
And angels comforted the brokenness
The ache subsided, blots remained
And life was altered beyond recognition

What's vengeance or jealousy, but blindness
Hellfire comes closer through misdeeds
Why brutality shows itself in fiery form
And there's a place for baseness like scorn

An acid attacker, cowardice's victim
Is hell's future inhabitant
In vain who burns to burn
But her strong soul shall strive and survive

A Love Song

Don't ask me who am I
find yourself in my eyes
life wrapped you as a shiny surprise
Ruby like are your twinkling eyes

May distance become distant
And peace grow each instant
Stardust is sprinkled by your shine
At least someone is mine

Sky showers more drops
A thought stumbles and hops
You enter my mind's window like sun
And turn to moon as the day is done

Overwhelmed with a feeling obscure
May be your smile can cure
How long will the charm last let me know
For before too tender passion did flow

Is it a dream or reality tell me
For your face is blurred, a dream let it be
Ah yes my eyes have left the unfamiliar room
Yet roses outside the window are in bloom

Don't ask me who am I
Find yourself in my eyes
Scent of sand mesmerize my mind
Do come in reality, be kind

In the last semester

In school's first day
Rolled tears, shone fears,
In time I learnt to learn
And passed like clouds, the years.

From tenth things changed,
Future pathways looked strange
The roads turned like jalebis,
Softy got accustomed to change.

In twelfth the atmosphere eased,
As well as turned tense,
The heavy physics, chemistry books,
As pillows made sense.

All cages seemed to vanish,
After the last board exam,
New tiresome pursuits emerged,
Life's journey was partly calm.

College life, an interesting phenomenon,
Embraced like none before,
From first year kid to a third year chap
A gown of memories time wore.

As the last semester seeps away,
Heart's castle hums a tune,
This is the moment to cherish,
Go hand in hand with moon.

The last semester, like a scenery,
Is but a fluttering butterfly,
The days will disappear, in misty nights,
In old books will be trapped, the hues of sky.

Let laughter cease not,
And like pearls be tears hidden,
Go create memories with pure hearts,
In the last semester.

As it's about to end,
Wishes of peace are to be sent,
As roads are ready to diverge,
At future crazy ride's advent.

Schooling done with, end now the college days,
A childish wish to get away with studies,
Seems a tragicomedy, a bad joke
Now deeper is the craving for buddies.

We shall meet in dreams,
All beads passing through a thread
Reality is what, who knows,
Just move on, and smile instead.
