In the Last Semester

On school's first day,
Rolled tears, shone fears,
In time I learnt to learn,
And passed like clouds, the years.

From tenth, the things changed,
Future pathways looked strange.
The roads turned around like jalebis,
Softy got accustomed to change.
In twelfth the atmosphere eased,
And turned tense as well.
The heavy physics, chemistry books,
As pillows made sense.

All cages seemed to vanish,
After the last board exam.
New tiresome pursuits emerged,
Life's journey was partly calm.

College life, an interesting phenomenon,
Embraced like none before.
From first year kid to a third year chap,
A gown of memories, time wore.

As the last semester seeps away,
Heart's castle hums a tune.
This is the moment to cherish,
Go hand in hand with the moon.

The last semester, like a scenery,
Is but a fluttering butterfly.
The days will disappear, in misty nights,
In old books will be trapped, the hues of sky.

Let laughter cease not,
And like pearls be tears hidden.
Go create memories with pure hearts,
In the last semester.

As it's about to end,
Wishes of peace are to be sent.
As roads are ready to diverge,
At future ride's advent.

Schooling done with, end now the college days,
A childish wish to get away with studies,
Seems a bad joke, a tragicomedy,
Now deeper is the craving for buddies.

We shall meet in dreams,
All beads passing through a thread
Reality is what, who knows,
Just move on, and smile instead.
