The Little Neighbourhood Child

There’s a neighbourhood child
Ever ready with train of queries
What’s this, what’s that?
Why this, why that?
Oft she comes and finding me reading
Spreads her blank pages
Of ‘how’ and ‘why’

She seeks to record
Some hidden treasures
Like a white dove
Pecking at tiny thoughts
Like a fire-fly
With fiery feathers
Her sense of wonder
Is like the blue ocean.

Just colours to cover
The naked sky
Just dew to wrap
The delicate flowers at dawn
She likes to chirp and twitter,
Or write with sketch-pens
She draws lines and strange shapes
Of some better world
She roams in dreams.

Can’t read yet but makes sounds
Repeats confidently the phrases heard
Pretends to be a bird
Sings songs with great intensity
Walks not but hops
As if an invisible spring
Is attached to her flowery slippers

She hasn’t yet seen school
Watches Doraemon with admiring eyes
With a tiny mouth wide open
And eyes unblinking
Tries to grasp some sense
And abundant mischiefs
Keep glittering on her face
Like a diamond necklace

Marriage celebrations attract her
Imitates secretly her mother
With lovely eyes wherever she looks
Love is born in hearts!
Her laughter is like the rustling of leaves
Or speedy turning of pages
Or a kite in flight

She’s like a baby sparrow
Getting ready for flight
Innocence is her beauty
And curiosity her wings
May the air be kind to her!
May her feathers be true friends!
May the Almighty Creator bestow upon her
Infinite reasons to smile…

A Woman’s Identity

The beasts keep murdering humanity,
Blame the victim’s clothes, poor vanity!
The cowards keep dancing to evil tunes,
Devastating the worldly abode into ruins.

Blame game since ages has been played well,
Innocents were tortured, veiled horrific farewell.
A woman ordained excessively,
Barriers, shackles do bind terribly.

‘Respect’ a word that must be taught,
Through iron rods, a war is to be fought.
The burnt hopes of better world shall rise with higher flames,
We shall strike and strike, to perfect our aims.

The darkness can’t be blamed for choosing the wrong way,
The illumined minds do find the right way.
A lesson, a lesson must be taught, to wild lions not in cage,
Sky shall be touched by our cries of freedom and rage.

A woman is society’s part as men, an equal deserver of respect,
Not a show-piece fit for home to be decked!
But to walk shoulder to shoulder with men,
Underneath her feet paradise lies!

A Piece of Paper

A piece of paper
Lying or flying
Or kept on the table
Feelings written
With hearts ink
And simplicity’s color
After efforts
Like diving for pearls
Or striving for betterment
Or climbing the mountains
Given a chance
To be read
Someday
Preparation and all
For days to come
Innocence radiating
True hopes and peaceful thoughts

The dawn arrives
Sun rises gloriously
Racing against time
Missing duties
For inspirational beauties
In the act of recitation
Waited, wait, waiting
Some acid burning the heart
Ache within
Tears gushing forth
No time left for recitation
Betrayal, lie clouds
Raining shocks
The end
Sorry!
The paper lost
Fallen, broken in bits
Collected waste thrown away
To a wasteland
Dispersal
Silence
Broken-hearted
Yet hopes, not giving-up
Hopes immortal
Next paper ready
New days dreams
Thoughts again
Golden sunshine
Silvery moonlight
Forgotten pains

Till the last day
Devouring the fruits of life
And salad of sadness
And spice of shocks
Till the last breath
Immersed in goodness
Kindness befriended
Till the first meeting
With God
From the bed of grave to the bed of heaven
From darkness to light

A piece of paper

Of hopes and dreams.

Life’s Shades

Marks are chased,
Like a lion at its prey,
When we are but mortals,
Crafted from clay.

The hankering for success,
Exceeds all bounds,
When its but satisfaction,
Glowing in the eyes around.

Happiness is every wish,
How easily acquired,
Sharing few dates heartily,
Robe of charity attired.

Materialistic cravings lured,
Infinite weak warriors,
While noble riders went on,
To break ego barriers.

Some moved around in panic,
With evaporated hopes,
While His mercy is near,
With elevated hopes.

Befriending justice best act,
One sleeps soundly when fair,
Rights are for all and duties,
When the true faith dawns everywhere.

Sorry Advertisements…

Aren’t you gaining weight
Why not use our product
To look as you always dreamt
Just a little money spent

Sorry, I’d prefer exercises,
And care more about my soul

Isn’t your face lacking glow
Use our products, admiration will flow
All faces will be turned to you
Won’t you like to be a glistening dew

Sorry, is it glow or whiteness that you speak
My natural skin colour is preferable and truth

Do come to our branded shop
And be a princess, at the top
All are clad in clothes anyhow
Won’t you like the attire of wow

Sorry, I’d prefer giving charities than extravagance
Oft brands aid in blooming arrogance

Buy this smart phone
All will be your fan
Or the coolest gadgets
And become a smart man

Sorry, smartness can’t be purchased, as far as I know
And my old phone hasn’t given up yet

I’m not a crazy one lecturing here
But a voice lost in noise
That says no to magnetic advertisements

And the sorcery of creating the feeling of need

Gift me...

Gift me your friendship, affection and care,
Not articles and objects bought from somewhere.
Precious is gold but love is priceless,
Gift me the token of memories that are rare.

Gift me your smile, crescent, moon-like and rare,
Not thoughtful gaze or prolonged stare.
Fair faces are charming but beauty inhabits fair hearts,
Veiled dawn blushes, before the day starts.

Gift me new dreams of lifes journey, togetherness,
Not thousand promises of expected happiness.
Sweet is honey but love is sweeter,
In icy winters, provides the warmth of a heater.

Gift me your love, the most precious treasure,
Most worthy, beyond measure.
Life is short but when together spent,
Rain falls of bliss, with dewy scent.

Gift me nothing but silent words of trust,
Like in a sun ray glittering pieces of dust,
Death is inevitable but truth everlasting,
Gift me pure nature’s handmade green ring.

Ye kamzor zamini nishaan mitate chalein,
Ye galatfehmian gayab karate chalein,
Kyunki milna hai Khuda se ham mil kar chalein,
Ta umr paigam e insaniat pahuchakar, dunyavi mehfil se chalien.
Is zameen pe dastanbuy, hai vo hi sajata,
Har subah k aaine ko, hai vo hi chamkata.
